What is Economic Sustainability and Why It Is Important

As we, human civilization, living in the Earth, using natural resources daily, the natural resources are becoming scarce in the world. It is important that we make changes on our economic direction now to Economic Sustainability, an economy whereby it refers to practices that support long-term economic growth without negatively impacting social, environmental, and cultural aspects of the community.


What is Sustainability?

Sustainability is the capacity to endure in a relatively ongoing way across various domains of life. It generally refers to the capacity for Earth’s ecosphere and human civilization to co-exist.


Why Sustainable Economy?

We all know that every year we are dealing with issues about climate change. What causes the climate change? Why climate change happens? It all comes from various sources; burning fossil fuels, cutting down forests, enormous amount of carbon footprint or greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. All these causes the imbalance of the environment.

With sustainable economy, it can help the environment to recover while it also provides a better quality of life to everyone. In other words, while the world development is taking place, the environment must also be conserved for future generations. Thus, using renewable resources and continuously looking for new ways to decrease the use of non-renewable resources.
